We are seeking an enthusiastic full time Food Technology Teacher to join a dedicated and supportive team in May until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Food Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4, inspiring students to develop their culinary skills and understanding of nutrition. As a Food Technology teacher, you will be expected to plan and deliver high-quality, practical lessons, encouraging students to explore creativity within food preparation, while promoting healthy eating and food safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Food Technology at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons that combine practical cooking skills with food science and nutrition.
  • Encourage students to explore food preparation techniques, while promoting a positive approach to healthy eating.
  • Ensure all students are aware of and follow safety standards within the kitchen.
  • Assess students progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to support students broader development.
  • Support students with additional learning needs, ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events related to Food Technology.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Two school based references.
  • Experience of teaching Food Technology at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Strong knowledge of food science, nutrition, and cooking techniques.
  • A passion for teaching and inspiring students in the subject area.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, practical lessons that cater to students of all abilities.
  • A proactive, creative approach to teaching with a focus on student well-being and development.
  • Right to work in the UK.
