They are looking to recruit a General Manager to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.About the General Manager RoleOur client is a 13 bed hotel, looking for somebody with previous catering/restaurant/hotel management experience, who is looking for their next step/move in their career who can oversee the running and operational performance of the site, including kitchen, event and restaurant, hotel staff.Hours: Thurs-Sun (10:00am - 9:00pm) - some flexibility needed when there are events / weddings with Mon-Wed days off - please note these are the working hours due to the operational opening times of the client. Salary: £37,000 + tips (up to £50,000 - £55,000 earning potential)What duties will be included in the General Manager role?

  • Supporting and overseeing the running and performance of the on-site restaurant and bar
  • Overseeing the operational performance of the kitchen, hotel and events.
  • Managing, coaching and supporting a team of staff
  • Reporting back to management
  • Looking at ways of improvement/efficiencies
  • Working to hit financial targets
  • Working to food handling safety guidelines and procedures
  • Providing excellent customer service and dealing with customer service enquiries
  • Completing necessary paperwork - stock control, staff administration etcWhat will you bring to the General Manager role?
  • Previous management experience within the hotel/restaurant/bar/catering industry is essential
  • Previous experience of working within restaurants and fine dining is highly desirable
  • Experience of supporting events / weddings
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene/safety including relevant certifications
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Able to work under own initiative and be self-motivated
  • Strong customer service skills and expert attention to detail
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced environment
  • Good time management
  • Good organisational skills
  • Flexible and positive can-do attitude
  • Hardworking and reliable
