Are you ready to be the first point of contact for clients in their day-to-day interactions, be responsible for managing your own work and helping to train junior team members?  Reed Practice are working with a firm of chartered accountants based in Nottingham who are seeking to add an accounts senior to their experienced team. All aspects of this role involve liaising with managers and clients and prioritising workload to ensure that client deadlines and needs are met.  

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing complex financial statements, tax computations, and returns for SMEs and businesses within our specialist services.
  • Building strong client relationships by liaising directly with clients to address outstanding matters.
  • Managing a small portfolio of clients.
  • Ensure timely delivery of services, meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Supervision and guidance of junior staff, reviewing their work before passing to the Client Manager/Director.
  • Maintaining accurate, compliant records and ensure all supporting documentation is complete.
  • Collaborating with the Client Manager/Director to ensure files meet the firm’s standards.
  • Management of your own workload.
  • Assisting with management accounts preparation and other ad-hoc tasks as required.

In order to be considered, candidates must have

  • 3 years + varied accountancy practice experience with great accounts technical knowledge
  • Experience of dealing directly with clients
  • Professional personal presentation and work ethic
  • A good knowledge of Excel and cloud-based accounting software
  • Able to work under pressure and have a flexible approach to working
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
