Are you looking to be more involved in month end processes & be part of an award winning team?We are working with a well established business operating for 40 years who has sites all across the Midlands with their central office in Nottingham. They are showing good organic growth and is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team.As an Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for working closely with the Management Accountant and Finance Controller on a wide range of projects and tasks to manage the finance function. The roles and responsibilities will change over time. This will suit an experienced individual or someone looking to develop their career.Main responsibilities in a nutshell:

Processing hourly payroll
Be responsible for the fixed asset register and depreciation
General ledger cashbook posting and bank reconciliation
Assist Management Accountant with prepayments and accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
Provide support or lead on Ad hoc tasks and projects for the Management Accountant and Financial Controller

Experience of working within an accounts department or in a stand-alone role
Excellent organisation and time management skills, being able to prioritise your own workload and respond to competing priorities while supporting the team during busier periods
The ability and motivation to work on your own initiative and operate with colleagues across multiple sites
A positive and enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to take on new skills and adopt new approaches, developing both yourself and others around you
A minimum of Intermediate level competency in Microsoft Excel
