The Interim Group Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for the group, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and providing support for key financial reporting processes

Large Retail business with HQ in the East Midlands

Description

  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and explanations during the audit process.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other ad hoc reports.
  • Review and ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and financial regulations.
  • Provide technical accounting support and guidance on complex issues such as acquisitions, disposals, or changes in accounting standards.
  • Implement and enhance accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support the finance team with various projects, including system upgrades or integrations, as needed.
  • Prepare and present financial analysis and reports to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Review intercompany transactions, ensuring correct consolidation and reconciliation processes are in place.
  • Help streamline reporting and accounting procedures, providing suggestions for continuous improvement.

Profile

Qualified Accountant with strong technical skills and experience gained with larger business. You will have an appetite for process improvement and ideally experience of working with ERP

Job Offer

£70-75K plus benefits, 12 month contract, office based
