Management Accountant | £60,000 + 10% Bonus | Nottingham | Manufacturing Industry

Are you a driven finance professional looking for a role where you can grow into a leadership position? Do you thrive in a manufacturing environment, working closely with commercial and operations teams to drive financial performance? If so, this Management Accountant role in Nottingham could be the perfect next step for you.

This position has been newly structured to provide an ambitious accountant with the opportunity to step up into a Finance Manager role in the future. You'll be heavily involved in operations and commercial teams, playing a pivotal role in compliance, tax, VAT, reporting, forecasting, cost control, and financial analysis. Reporting into the Financial Controller, you'll also work closely with senior leaders in Operations and Commercial giving you fantastic exposure to key stakeholders.

What you'll be doing:

  • Management & Statutory Reporting - ensuring accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Compliance & Tax - acting as the Compliance Officer, ensuring VAT, tax, and reporting adhere to UK regulations and internal controls.
  • Business Partnering - working closely with operations and commercial teams to drive efficiency and profitability.
  • Financial Controls & Processes - managing balance sheet reconciliations, payroll journal entries, and month-end closing duties.
  • Operational Finance - supporting variance analysis, standard costing, and capex processes, working alongside engineering and purchasing teams.
  • Audit & Governance - being the key point of contact for external audits and preparing statutory accounts.
  • Process Improvement - identifying cost savings and streamlining financial processes.

Who we're looking for:

  • Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) - unfortunately, part-qualified candidates cannot be considered. Very strong QBEs may be considered, but future progression will be limited.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred but not essential, however you must have an understanding of cost efficiencies and operational finance.
  • Strong analytical and business partnering skills - you must be able to communicate effectively with non-financial stakeholders.
  • Personality fit is key, we need someone who is proactive, receptive to feedback, and great at relationship-building.
