Senior Financial Accountant | £55,000 + Bonus | Nottingham | Hybrid Working

Macildowie Finance is supporting a unique, growing business in Nottingham in their search for a Senior Financial Accountant. This newly created role offers a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of financial reporting and controls while leading process improvements across the finance function. This isn't a role where you'll have no support either, you'll work as part of a superfriendly, approachable team and report to a supportive manager.

For this role, you could be currently working as an Assistant Manager/ Manager in practice, or be working in industry and looking for a step up or a change in role to something where you can have a real impact.

What will you be doing?

  • Overseeing full financial management responsibilities, including reviewing management and statutory accounts, tax and VAT returns, and managing audits.
  • Driving improvements in financial processes, controls, and reporting to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Preparing annual budgets, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • Acting as a key liaison between finance and operational teams to create a collaborative, efficient working environment.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategic changes to strengthen financial management.

What are we looking for?

  • A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 3+ years PQE
  • Experience in statutory and management accounting
  • Strong process improvement and project management skills
  • A proactive, strategic thinker with the ability to influence and drive change
