Macildowie Finance is supporting a unique, growing business in Nottingham in their search for a Senior Financial Accountant. This newly created role offers a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of financial reporting and controls while leading process improvements across the finance function. This isn't a role where you'll have no support either, you'll work as part of a superfriendly, approachable team and report to a supportive manager.

For this role, you could be currently working as an Assistant Manager/ Manager in practice, or be working in industry and looking for a step up or a change in role to something where you can have a real impact.

Salary: £55,000 + competitive bonus
Hybrid working: 3 days in the office

Annual leave: 25 days, increasing with service up to 30 days

What will you be doing?

Overseeing full financial management responsibilities, including reviewing management and statutory accounts, tax and VAT returns, and managing audits.
Driving improvements in financial processes, controls, and reporting to enhance overall efficiency.
Preparing annual budgets, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Acting as a key liaison between finance and operational teams to create a collaborative, efficient working environment.
Identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategic changes to strengthen financial management.

What are we looking for?

A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 3+ years PQE
Experience in statutory and management accounting
Strong process improvement and project management skills
A proactive, strategic thinker with the ability to influence and drive change
