Role Overview:

Our client is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join their expanding Finance team. In this role, you will provide insightful analysis, drive efficiency, and enhance compliance and control. As part of the Audit & Compliance Team, you will deliver independent, objective assurance, and consulting services that add value, support corporate objectives, and improve operations. Your contribution will be pivotal in ensuring that we comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal standards, thereby safeguarding the integrity of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Auditing:

  • Conduct internal audits with integrity and adherence to professional standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Utilize curiosity and analytical thinking to identify risks, improve processes, and effectively contribute to compliance investigations and reviews.
  • Assist in developing and updating audit methodologies in line with the latest industry practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to foster a shared understanding of risk management, compliance obligations, and control measures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the internal control environment to ensure its adequacy, efficiency, and effectiveness, making recommendations for enhancements as necessary.
  • Support managers and colleagues in understanding risk management, compliance, and controls.

Compliance:

  • Undertake compliance audits as outlined in the Audit Programme.
  • Assist with compliance reviews as required.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing a variety of internal audit assignments independently from start to finish while adhering to professional standards.
  • A minimum of three years of experience as an Internal Auditor/Senior Internal Auditor is preferable.
  • Experience in a broad range of audit assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to produce concise and persuasive audit reports for stakeholder discussions.
  • Knowledge of risk management, legal requirements, and industry practices.
  • Experience in compliance investigations and reviews, enhancing operational integrity.
  • Previous experience in a regulated industry is preferred; financial crime/compliance experience is beneficial but not essential.
