We are seeking an organised and proactive Accounts Assistant to support our Finance team. The role involves managing university bank accounts, ensuring all income and expenditure are accurately recorded, and overseeing daily banking operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bank Account Management:Manage the assigned university bank accounts, ensuring that all transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.

  • Banking Services Development:Continuously monitor and enhance the University's banking services, developing leaner, more efficient processes.

  • Operational Bank Contact:Act as the primary operational point of contact for the bank, ensuring smooth communication and resolution of any issues.

  • Daily Bank Statement Downloads:Download daily statements from the main bank account and ensure timely recording of transactions.

  • Income and Expenditure Recording:Ensure all income and expenditure are accurately reflected in the accounting system, maintaining up-to-date financial records.

  • Fraud Detection:Investigate and identify any unusual or potentially fraudulent activities on assigned bank accounts, taking appropriate action as needed.

  • Internal and External Queries:Respond promptly to queries from schools, departments, managers, and external stakeholders, including banks, customers, suppliers, and students.
