Our client welcomes Graduate and Junior Product Design Engineer's to apply for this role - but to be considered, you MUST have experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360 etc.), and capable of complex surface modelling. Job Overview as a Product Design Engineer:
As a Product Design Engineer, you will be involved in the design & development process, but there will also be an element of research and consumer usability. You will be responsible for the following:
- Taking new products from concept through to production
- Concept development and design evaluation
- DFMA
- Detailed technical drawings
- Material specification, selection, material and process testing
Key responsibilities as a Product Design Engineer:
As the medical field is a heavily regulated industry, there will a number of key responsibilities to adhere to, which will include:
- Producing mechanical designs and solutions
- Working on the full design lifecycle; concepts, 2D and 3D modelling, engineering drawings and DFM
- Dealing directly with customers to ensure that requirements are being followed
- Working closely with cross-functional teams
- Working to build and deliver projects on-time, to budget and meeting customer specifications
What you will need to be considered:
As a Product Design Engineer, you will have the following:
- Degree qualified in Product or Industrial Design (Mechanical Engineering will also be considered)
- A portfolio is required with EVERY application!
- 2 years+ experience working in a design centred position working for companies within; Consumer Electronics, Consumer Technology and/or Design Consultancy or similar
- Proficient user of SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Fusion 360 or similar
- Experience in complex surface modelling
- DFMA (Design for Manufacture & Assembly)
