Macildowie are actively seeking a Purchase ledger clerk to work for a well established business based in Nottingham, NG2.
This is a full time position for the next 6 months on an interim contract.
Working hours are Monday to Friday - 9am - 5pm in the office full time for the first 3 months and then hybrid after. (3 days in the office and 2 days from home).
Salary is £24,000 permanent equivalent.
Role overview - Temporary Purchase Ledger to join the finance team for an initial 6-month period. This role is perfect for someone with experience in purchase ledger, invoicing, reconciliation, supplier setup, and credit control. Reporting to the Transactional Services Manager, you'll play a key role in managing purchase ledger duties while supporting the team with other finance-related tasks.
Key responsibilities and Duties include:
- Purchase Ledger: Process and manage purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely entry into the accounting system.
- Invoicing & Reconciliation: Handle invoicing for suppliers and perform regular reconciliation tasks to ensure accurate records.
- Supplier Setup: Manage the setup of new suppliers in the system and ensure all information is up to date.
- Credit Control: Take responsibility for chasing overdue payments and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers to ensure timely settlements.
- Communication: Regularly communicate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any discrepancies or queries.
- Support: Assist with general finance team tasks and ad-hoc duties as required, ensuring smooth operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable roles.
- Strong knowledge of invoicing, reconciliation, and supplier management.
- Previous experience in credit control is highly desirable.
- Confident in communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
