Junior Sensory Scientist

Salary: Up to £37,000 per annum

Location: Nottinghamshire / Hybrid

Jellyfish Recruitment are excited to be working exclusively with an innovative global client-side company focused on product development.

They are now looking for a Junior Sensory Scientist to join their team & become part of their exciting plans for 2025.

The Role:

As a Junior Sensory Scientist, you will contribute to the design & execution of sensory research projects, supporting product development & quality assurance initiatives. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather & analyse sensory data, providing actionable insights that drive decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the setup, coordination, & execution of sensory panels & consumer testing.
  • Analyse sensory data using appropriate statistical methods & software.
  • Prepare detailed reports & presentations to communicate findings.
  • Work closely with product development, marketing, & R&D teams to align sensory evaluations with business objectives.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, & consistency in sensory testing procedures.

About You:

  • Degree in Food Science, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) would be beneficial.
  • Passion for sensory science & consumer/product research.
  • Strong analytical skills with an understanding of statistical methods for sensory data.
  • Excellent organisational & communication skills.
  • Proficiency in sensory evaluation software & tools is a plus.
