The award-winning Hamberley Care Group is changing the way that elderly care is delivered through our luxury homes across the UK. We are recruiting for a caring professional and self-motivated individual with good practical maintenance experience to join on our home.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing health and safety at this home, undertake remedial work and liaise with external contractors on work beyond the scope of general repair and maintenance.

Could you be part of our team?

The Maintenance Officer is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all buildings, equipment, fire safety and legionella control.

  • Ensure the home and grounds are kept in a good state of repair and residents have access to all appropriate areas
  • Compliance with Health and Safety legislation throughout the home, including reporting of H&S incidents
  • Source appropriate contractors and suppliers to service the needs of the care home
  • Carry out day to day repairs and some refurbishment activity to maintain standards in the care home
  • Actively engage with staff, relatives and families as part of the care home team and regularly engage with residents
  • Working closely with the Home Manager or nominated colleague to make sure that our residents live in a place that is safe and well maintained at all times.
  • Ensuring that regular safety checks and servicing is carried out on all equipment and accurate records are kept.
  • Having excellent communication with the Home Manager and also the Residents
  • Basic plumbing and electrical maintenance
  • Clearing and Cleaning general areas
  • Assembling furniture • Painting and decorating.

The ideal applicant will have/be:

  • Able to demonstrate Health and Safety awareness through discussion
  • Experience of maintenance role

  • “Can-Do” flexible team worker, problem fixer, passion for what they do, ability to manage diverse and demanding workload, think out of the box, open to doing things differently
