Product Marketing ManagerSalary: £65,000 to £75,000 DOE + PackageLocation: Nottingham, on-site 3 days per weekOur client, a market-leading, global manufacturer of capital equipment to a variety of industries, is looking for a technically-minded product marketing manager to own one of their top-performing product lines. This is an exciting opportunity to not only market the product but also to be an active participant in the future development of the product, acting as a conduit between the customer and the product development teams.What you'll need:

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience in a B2B engineering company.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to think strategically about product and business issues.
  • Credible technical understanding and knowledge, alongside an understanding of technical specifications and documentation.
  • Previous experience of working in a large, multi-national corporation and communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong decision-making skills when evaluating new and existing product ideas; and able to validate why certain product ideas have higher potential than others.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team including sales, marketing, R&D and Advanced Manufacturing.

It would also be advantageous to have:

  • Product experience within an engineering solution, including mechanical, electrical and software elements.
  • Experience of a gated development process (such as stage gate or phase gate).

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing front-end product marketing activities, including Voice of the Customer interviews and future concept development.
  • Creating value proposition messaging and materials and working closely with marketing and sales to deliver messaging to end users.
  • Developing the strategic marketing plan for your product, including market segmentation, functional requirements, positioning and pricing strategies.
  • Acting as the subject matter expert for your product and identify disruptive technology and business opportunities.
  • Translating market and customer needs into innovative solutions.
  • Communicating frequently with the sales force and generate useful tools to aid them in the sales cycle.
