Ackerman Pierce are looking to recruit a Commissioner Officer Team within Nottinghamshire. The vacancy will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstance and your performance.

Responsibilities include:

  • To act as project leads and ensure the implementation of agreed commissioning activity as directed, using the Commissioning Framework. This will involve coordinating a project team, developing the documentation, reporting to governance boards and reviewing the impact of activity.
  • To work within Lead Commissioner led programmes of work on the development of options appraisals against identified needs. As part of this work to collaborate with stakeholders including senior colleagues both within the Directorate and across the organisation.
  • To ensure full consultation on options for service delivery which take into account where appropriate opportunities for co production.
  • To use an outcome based approach with existing and potential providers to devise detailed service specifications which ensure clarity of purpose and agreement on how Councils investment is to be used and monitored. This will involve working with procurement and finance colleagues.
  • To keep informed of national and local initiatives or policy changes to ensure that all commissioned services are evidence based and meet the identified needs of citizens.
  • To work with selected providers on an investment based model rather than that of traditional funding/grant giving to enable creativity in the delivery of the commissioned service. To provide guidance and support to providers where appropriate.

Experience preferred:

  • Post qualifying experience of working as a Commissioner Officer within the UK.
