Job Summary:

We seek a dedicated and qualifiedChildren's Home Managerto lead our clients residential care facility in Nottingham. This role requires an Ofsted-registered manager who will oversee the day-to-day operations of the home and ensure the highest standards of care for children with complex needs, particularly those experiencing emotional dysregulation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of Care: Oversee the daily operations of the children's home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and standards. Develop and implement care plans tailored to each child's individual needs.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of care professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment. Ensure all staff adhere to policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support for Children: Directly support children with complex emotional and behavioural needs, implementing strategies to promote their well-being and development.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Manage the home's budget and resources efficiently, ensuring optimal use of funding and staff time.
  • Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis management strategies, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents in challenging situations.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections, maintaining the home's compliance with all regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including care plans and incident reports.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with social workers, families, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to each child's care.
  • Training and Development: Conduct staff training sessions and performance evaluations, promoting continuous professional development within the team.
  • Technology Utilization: Utilize the ClearCare system to manage care records and documentation effectively.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ofsted Registration: Must be a registered manager with Ofsted or have experience preparing for and managing Ofsted inspections.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in a residential children's home setting, with at least one year in a managerial role.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare - working towards Level 5.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding: Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures, children's home regulations, and best care practices.
  • Experience with Complex Needs: Proven experience working with children and young people with emotional dysregulation or complex needs.
