Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a vibrant and nurturing village preschool that caters to children from 9 months to 4 years old.

The preschool is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, operating for 48 weeks per year. Our dedicated team of 11 staff members each holds a specific role, ensuring that every child receives the attention and care they deserve. The preschool also boasts an off site forest school, led by qualified forest school leaders, where children have the opportunity to explore and learn in nature on a weekly basis. We are now seeking a passionate and committed Preschool Manager to lead and manage the daily operations of our preschool. This role requires a professional with strong leadership skills, a background in early childhood education, and a dedication to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for the children. As the Preschool Manager, you will be responsible for managing the team, ensuring effective communication with staff, parents, and the local community, and driving the overall vision and mission of the preschool.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the overall operations of the preschool, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement educational programmes that promote child development and learning.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of educators, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents, providing updates on their children's progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for the children to explore and learn.
  • Organise and facilitate staff training, supervisions, and observations to support professional development in early childhood education.
  • Drive initiatives that encourage community involvement and raise awareness of the preschool's offerings.
  • Monitor children's progress through assessments and observations, adapting programmes to meet individual needs.
  • Work towards meeting Ofsted and local authority requirements, driving plans to achieve excellence in all areas.
  • Understand the funding process, handle invoicing, complete audits, and assist with policy writing.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing a childcare or nursery setting is essential.
  • Experience working with children aged 9 months to 4 years old, within the specified hours of 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM over 48 weeks per year.
  • A strong background in early childhood education with relevant qualifications.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships with children, parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and understanding their developmental needs.
  • Experience in implementing educational frameworks that support child learning outcomes is desirable.

Working Hours:
  • Tuesday to Friday between 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM (Current manager hours: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM x 2 days, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM x 1 day, and 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM x 1 day)
Education:
  • Level 3 minimum; degree-level qualification preferred
Experience:
  • Nursery experience: 2 years
  • Childcare experience: 2+ years
  • Management experience: 2 years
