We are currently seeking a Civil Engineering Estimator to join a dynamic estimating team based in Nottingham to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of civil engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
• Winning Work: Drive our success by producing winning tenders and nurturing key customer relationships.
• Cost Estimation: Create precise cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment, based on customer drawings and specifications.
• Market Insight: Stay ahead of the curve by understanding current market prices and benchmarking our solutions for increased success rates.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the New Business Manger to ensure compliance with company procedures, business strategy, and clearance levels.
• Customer Engagement: Assist in presenting tender proposals to customers and actively participate in customer meetings throughout the tender process.
• Risk Management: Assess and adhere to all risk assessments and health and safety requirements, ensuring the safety of all stakeholders.
• Supplier Selection: Source suitable sub-contractors and specialists for each project to guarantee the highest quality standards.
• Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with Construction Managers, Planners, and the Design Team to ensure seamless project execution.
• Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documents for senior management to showcase cost calculations and project feasibility.
• Knowledge Transfer: Ensure a smooth handover of bid documentation to the commercial and project operations teams.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Proven experience in pricing General Civil Engineering and Highways tenders.
• A degree in General Civil Engineering or a related field.
• A deep understanding of civil engineering and the construction industry.
• Confidence in independently pricing projects with minimal reliance on others.
• Exceptional numeracy skills.
• Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in all Microsoft packages.
• Strong analytical capabilities for financial analysis.
• The ability to thrive in high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.
• Outstanding organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
