Senior IT EngineerLocation: Nottingham Salary: £40,000 +

We are a leading company based in Nottingham, known for providing exceptional IT services and support to a diverse range of clients and internal teams. They are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Technician to join their team and play a key role in managing and maintaining their IT infrastructure, providing support, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide expert technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across the company or client base.* Lead and manage IT projects, including installations, upgrades, and system migrations.* Monitor and maintain IT systems, ensuring maximum uptime and performance.* Troubleshoot complex IT issues and ensure prompt resolution to minimise downtime.* Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring security, backups, and patching are up to date.* Support users with day-to-day IT queries, both remotely and on-site, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.* Mentor and support junior IT technicians, providing guidance and sharing technical knowledge.* Ensure IT security protocols are followed and implemented, including antivirus, firewalls, and VPNs.

Skills & Experience:

* A minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT Technician or IT Support role.* Strong knowledge of networking, hardware, software, and security best practices.* Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).* Experience with network configuration, including VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and switches.* Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to IT support.* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
