The Role:As a CNC Machinist, you will ensure the precise machining of rail components.聽Responsibilities:
- Operating manual and CNC milling machines
- On-machine programming using Siemens controls
- Following processes and procedures
- Recording and logging jobs accurately
- Conducting inventory checks in line with procedures
- Training new operatives as required
- Complying with safety regulations and company procedures
- Reporting accidents and "near-miss" incidents
- Maintaining clear communication with the next shift via logbooks and shift changeovers
- Upholding quality standards and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- Promoting good housekeeping and maintaining a tidy work environment
Requirements:
- Apprenticeship-trained or time-served background
- Previous experience in medium to heavy manufacturing
- CNC milling and manual milling experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Awareness of safety legislation and quality procedures (ISO 9001)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
