Press brake operator

Our client is a reputable outfit looking to expand following another successful year of manufacturing. They are currently looking to add staff to their production facility in Nottingham on a permanent basis.

As a Brake press Operator, you must be able to operate a CNC Brake press. This would include; setting and operating, tooling, maintenance and reading technical drawings. Working with Stainless Steel and Aluminium would be beneficial.

The candidate will start on the salary advertised and then it will be improved after 3 months.

Shift pattern is fixed to Monday to Thursday nights. 4pm - 02:30am.

Duties:

  • Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment, such as ducts, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings.
  • Monitor machine visually and audibly to ensure equipment is operating properly.
  • Setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal.
  • Set machine by loading material into machine using overhead crane.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance machines.
  • Completing paper/computer work.
  • To be mindful of continuous improvement and lean principles

Requirements:

  • Must be able to create a program at the machine.
  • Good understanding of press brake tooling.
  • Experience on Amada, Bystronic or similar machines such as LVD / Trumpf essential.
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing / production environment.
  • A genuine desire to learn and progress.
  • Flexibility to work?continental shifts if needed.
