Major Recruitment are seeking aPress Brake Operative to join our client's team in Nottingham. This role involves working with sheet metal for various industries, operating during afternoon and night shifts. The ideal candidate will be proficient in setting and operating press brake machines and will be responsible for ensuring high-quality production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and straighten sheet metal.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate production.
- Perform quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.
- Adjust machine settings to accommodate different materials and thicknesses.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on press brake machines.
- Handle and move materials weighing 12-15kg.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following health and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Document production activities and maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Press Brake Operative.
- Proficiency in setting and operating press brake machines.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
- Physical fitness to handle materials up to 12-15kg.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work afternoon and night shifts.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
- Temp-to-perm opportunities available for the right candidate.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday, 16:00 - 02:30
- 13 per hour DOE
- Overtime x1.5
- Temp-to-Perm
