Bennett and Game are representing one of the fastest growing multi-disciplinary consultancies in the UK, seeking a Project Manager to join their team in either Nottingham, Stafford, Sheffield or Bollington. This consultancy provides specialist services in ecology, arboriculture, flood risk, and habitat management, working across the UK to support a diverse range of clients in infrastructure, housing, commercial development, and utilities. As part of their continued growth, they are looking for a Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of environmental and ecological consultancy projects, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Assistant Project Manager Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 (Negotiable)
  • 26 days of annual leave, including 1 day of annual leave to be taken on or in the week of your birthday, 3 days to be taken between Christmas and New Year, plus an additional 2 No paid CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) days of leave to undertake voluntary work of social value of your choosing
  • An enhanced maternity leave package, with full salaried pay for the first 12 weeks of leave, with statutory maternity pay thereafter.
  • An enhanced paternity leave package, with full salary for 3 weeks, plus additional leave (or TOIL) by negotiation.
  • Plus, a per household "Baby Bonus" of £500 in your salary, toward the cost of nursery/pram/etc that comes with a new child.

Assistant Project Manager Job Overview

  • Working on large scale, multi-million-pound utility and infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, and contractors to ensure project specifications are met and any issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Monitor and track project progress, identifying and addressing any delays or potential risks
  • Manage project budgets and ensure all costs are accurately tracked and reported
  • Supervise and lead on-site teams, ensuring they are following project plans and safety protocols
  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards and regulations
  • Following the recent win of a major rail infrastructure project, candidates with experience in rail-related projects will be at an advantage, although this is not essential

Assistant Project Manager Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in project management, ideally within the environmental or ecology sector. However, candidates from rail, construction, or civil engineering backgrounds are also strongly encouraged to apply-regardless of their current job title-provided they demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a clear ambition to develop into a Project Management role.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project or similar) is beneficial but not essential.
