Reporting to the Head of Compliance Services, the post holder will lead the development and monitoring of safe systems of work used by Estates staff and contractors, driving continuous improvement and best practice in this critical area of health and safety management and acting as a source of expert advice for all staff across the organisation.

Description

We're seeking a Compliance Manager to oversee and enhance safe systems of work (SSOW) within Estates, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, specifically CDM15 and the Building Safety Act. This role involves leading contractor management efforts, providing expert advice, and driving safety improvements across the department. You'll work closely with the Head of Compliance Services, leading initiatives to improve safety culture and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, monitor, and update SSOW for Estates staff and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM15 and related safety policies.
  • Oversee contractor safety management and training programs.
  • Act as a key advisor on health and safety matters within the department.

Profile

We are seeking applications from individuals with a proven background in health & safety who can demonstrate a capability of taking ownership of a programme of works relating to health & Safety and successfully driving it forward and successfully implementing change.


Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Extensive experience in CDM and contractor management.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in policy implementation.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., HND or NEBOSH Diploma).

The role is based in Nottingham and will operate on a hybird basis which will reuire a site presence in Nottingham for 3 days a week.

Job Offer

A salary of 45,000 - 60,000 is on offer dependant on experience and performance at interview.
