An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Conveyancing Secretary / Paralegal to work with our widely respected Residential Conveyancing team. Our Residential Conveyancing department are experts in a wide variety of conveyancing matters and are a major name in the provision of conveyancing services in the East Midlands and nationwide.
For this role we are looking for candidates who have experience working within a residential property team, who can liaise confidently with clients via phone and email, communicate effectively and possesses a high level of attention to detail.
This is a fast-paced role and the ideal candidates will be able to work under pressure and have excellent time management, IT skills and be able to proficiently work with a paperless case management system.
Responsibilities of this role:
-Dealing with clients in person, taking instructions, advising and taking appropriate action
-Providing quotes to clients and agents/brokers
-Able to deal with opening, closing, and archiving of files
-Knowledge and ability to complete ID and AML processes required on matters
-Submitting AP1 submissions proficiently
-Submitting SDLT returns proficiently
-Reviewing freehold title registers, protocol, and searches to raise enquiries and report to clients
-Reviewing mortgage offers, CML handbook and reporting to clients
-Ability to take a proactive approach
-Preparing documentation promptly, efficiently, and accurately such as TR1, TP1s, Mortgage Deeds and SDLT forms
-Deal promptly and efficiently with all matters referred to you by the Solicitors and other appropriate fee earners from instruction to completion
-Liaising with and updating clients, solicitors, estates agents and other relevant parties on file matters
-Carry out a variety of other administrative matters required by the Conveyancing Department
Skills, Experience and Attributes
-Experience of having worked in a conveyancing department
-Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
-Strong IT skills with experience of using Microsoft 365
-Proactive and excellent time management skills
-Excellent organisational skills
-Ability to work well to meet tight deadlines
