Macildowie Recruitment & Retention - Data, BI & MI Analytics Senior Data Engineer - Up to 85,000 - Nottingham Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm - Hybrid / RemoteMacildowie Data Analytics is delighted to have exclusively partnered with a reputable and growing organisation to recruit a Senior Data Engineer / Developer. You will play a pivotal role in streamlining our client's workflow and data infrastructure which would include writing SQL code, whilst extracting and cleansing data from core systems working towards building and selecting a data warehouse for the business.Main Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and distribute critical operational reports to senior management and key stakeholders. These reports will offer valuable insights into operational performance, guiding our client's actions.
  • Extract data from core systems, whilst using SQL to write and cleanse data to ensure data availability and accuracy.
  • Establish and support the wider business with building a robust data warehouse for ongoing reporting.
  • Scrutinise data quality, rectify discrepancies, and proactively identify and address dataset issues to guarantee precision in our analysis.
  • Conduct thorough gap analyses within datasets and collaborate with the business to implement solutions, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Playing a crucial role in the preparation and monitoring of weekly/monthly metrics required for regulatory reporting using PowerBI.
  • Create insights that pinpoint and prioritise key areas for the business, ensuring our focus aligns with industry trends and emerging opportunities.
  • Cooperating with stakeholders to provide appropriate value-adding commentary helping our client identify gaps and explore.
  • Map, scope and support cross functionally with the build of a new data warehouse.
  • Identify opportunities to automate data processes and implement data quality control measures.

The Candidate

  • Proficiency in handling and integrating large, complex datasets.
  • Experience using and coding SQL to interrogate datasets and to derive insights.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data manipulation techniques, including data cleaning, transformation, and aggregation.
  • Proficient user of data visualisation tools such as Power BI and Excel to effectively communicate insights, trends, and findings.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, approaching data challenges with analytical thinking and innovative solutions.
  • Previous experience data warehousing or with legacy and modern database technologies.
  • A background in wealth management or financial planning.
