This a new and pivotal role within the organisation where you will be involved with product design, re-design and development in order to enhance the companies portfolio. Key duties include R&D, concept development, value engineering, material selection, 3D CAD, FEA, prototyping, test & validation and hand over into production,
This is an excellent opportunity where you will be tackling diverse technical challenges and will help shape the future direction of the business. There is also a strong potential for the role to grow into a Team Manager position. In order to be suitable, you will ideally have excellent knowledge of materials/processes such as casting, forgings, alloys, copper and plastic injection mouldings.
Mechanical Design & Development Engineer requirements:
- HNC/D or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
- Excellent understanding of mechanical principles and material properties
- FEA / Failure analysis
- 3D CAD Inventor (or similar)
- Test & Validation
- Able to travel occasionally
- Progression potential to Team Manager
- 10% annual bonus scheme
