An established, mid-size Building Services Consultancy based in the East Midlands, is expanding their team and are recruiting for a Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to work on several high-profile projects across a variety of sectors.

To ensure engineers are offered a varied project workload, typical project types include Education, Commercial, Retail, Residential, Leisure and Healthcare.

The company's current need is for a Mechanical Design Engineer who has previously worked within a building services consultancy environment or a design environment within contractors, and who has a varied project portfolio experience.

Your new role

  • Work as part of internal and wider project design teams
  • Co-ordination with other disciplines and specialists
  • Work with our energy modelers and low carbon consultants to establish energy strategies
  • Preparation of designs, calculations, specifications and reports
  • Site visits, meetings, and inspection of installation works
  • Assist senior engineers in managing projects

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft software
  • Ability to use Hevacomp & ideally Revit
  • Understanding of regulations and standards
  • Understanding of RIBA stages
  • Good organisational skills and teamwork

You will also need the following skills sets:

  • Completed a minimum of an HND qualification in a relevant subject;
  • Previous experience in Building Services Consultancy;
  • Good experience of mechanical detail design and D&B;
  • Competent user of design software &AutoCAD/Revit;
