This exciting opportunity for a proactive and energetic Level 2 or 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant to join one of our brilliant and progressive Alternative Provisions. The school provides the chance to work under the guidance of teaching staff, undertaking support programmes that enable access to learning for all pupils. The role focuses on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.

As a Teaching Assistant you will have:

  • Experience in supporting pupils in a classroom environment, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
  • A good understanding of the National Key Stage Curriculum.
  • Sound understanding of child development and learning.
  • A dedication to establishing positive relationships with pupils and understanding their needs.
  • The ability to provide varying levels of individual attention, reassurance and support with learning tasks as appropriate to pupils' needs.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to a wide range of duties in response to changing circumstances.
  • The ability to monitor a pupil's response to learning activities and modify or adapt the activities to achieve the intended learning outcomes.
  • The confidence to manage challenging behaviour.

Qualifications/Licences/Certifications:

  • Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools
  • Level 2 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. (Induction Training for Teaching Assistants & Support Staff).
  • Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Level 3 Certificate Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools
