Our client, a reputable engineering consultancy in Nottingham, is seeking an experienced Ecologist to lead their team and provide expert ecological advice on new developments.
The role is hybrid, allowing for two days of remote work each week.
Candidates should have previous experience as an Ecologist, particularly with Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) calculations, and hold an appropriate degree in a related field.
Membership in the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) and qualifications in protected species are also required.
The salary for this position is competitive, and the ideal candidate will have relevant experience in roles such as Senior Ecologist or Environmental Consultant.

The Role:
As the Ecologist, your responsibilities will include:

Acting as the technical lead for the team
Providing expert advice on the ecological impact of various developments, including housing, commercial and civil projects
Liaising with both private and public sector clients
Undertaking some compliance work

The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for the Ecologist role should have:

Previous experience working as an Ecologist
Experience with Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) calculations
An appropriate degree in a related field
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)
Protected species qualifications or accreditations
