Job Role: SMT Technician/EngineerLocation: Nottinghamshire Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

The role:

Maintenance and optimisation of the circuit processing machinery and supporting New Product Introduction process

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all circuit process machinery is operational.
  • Assist with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, including reviews of Gerber files, BOMs, drawings, and CSVs.
  • Provide day-to-day support at production assembly areas, including fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Program and optimize Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machines, including feeder and nozzle selections.
  • Handle New Product Development (NPD) responsibilities for various machines, including programming and debugging.
  • Manage Design Change Requests (DCR), including BOM updates and drawing releases.
  • Participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) processes.
  • Create and manage setup sheets, machine/library backups, and process reports.

The Candidate:

  • Qualification in Production Engineering or other relevant subjects such as Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent qualifications)
  • Substantial experience in PCB manufacturing, including some experience in the introduction of new products
  • General knowledge of IPC 610
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and safety conscious
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of electronic principles
