Domestic Electrician - prison accommodation

Pay Rate: Negotiable

Hours: 1 in 3 shift pattern required

  • Weekdays: 08:00-17:00
  • Weekends: 08:00-16:00

Temp to Perm after successful initial 3 months

Main Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, service, and repair electrical installations, circuits, and wiring systems in domestic prison properties.
  • Undertake all electrical works associated with domestic prison properties.

Key Duties:

  • Test and inspect electrical installations in prison properties in accordance with the 17th IEE Wiring Regulations as amended from time to time ("the Regulations").
  • Maintain and repair electrical installations in accordance with the Regulations.
  • Replace circuits and consumer units, including full rewiring of properties.
  • Comply with Company Health and Safety Policy, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and other statutory legislation.
  • Strict adherence to Company Health and Safety and operational policies.
  • Compliance with instructions and directives from line management and the Central Coordination Team.
  • Deliver electrical repairs and testing in both occupied and void properties.
  • Undertake out-of-hours call-out duties as per rota requirements.

Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds (C&G) 2391 Inspection and Test or the equivalent C&G 2394 & 5
  • C&G 2382 17th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations
  • C&G Installation Certificate 2360 / 2351 or equivalent with Part 2 or NVQ
  • C&G 2393 Desirable Part P Qualification
  • Asbestos Awareness Training
  • C&G 2377 PAT Testing Course
  • Current full UK driving licence
