Fire Alarms and Security Systems Engineer - Nottingham

Fire Alarms and Security Systems Engineer - We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Installation, Maintenance, and Small Works Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and minor project works related to fire alarm systems and security systems. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background in fire and security systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Duties 

  • Install and maintain fire alarm, CCTV, access control, intruder alarm, and emergency lighting systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations. Perform routine maintenance, diagnose faults, and conduct system inspections to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client queries, offering technical advice, conducting training on system operation and maintenance, and coordinating with clients and other trades for small works, upgrades, and system modifications.

  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, complete necessary documentation such as service reports and installation certificates, maintain an inventory of tools and equipment, and stay updated on industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications 

  • Education or related field preferred, with proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm and security systems.

  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms; proficient with diagnostic tools and technical drawings.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities; relevant industry certifications (e.g., FIA, BAFE, NSI) and a valid driver’s license are desirable.
