An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Services Manager to join the Finance team at Nottingham College. The Finance Services Manager is responsible for the Income, Purchase Ledger, Cash and Banking functions within the Finance Department and manages the team of Finance Services Assistants.

We are looking for someone with a 'can do’ attitude who possesses strong analytical skills with the proven ability to solve problems and formulate solutions. You will put the customer at the heart of everything you do and have experience of managing, motivating and continuously developing a team.

You will also have proven experience of providing and leading an efficient and effective customer service which meets the needs of both internal and external customers. You will need to continually reprioritise the workload of the team to ensure deadlines are met whilst urgent requests are also dealt with. It is essential therefore that you are able to work on your own initiative, as well being able to plan and organise the work of the team to ensure results are delivered.

In addition to this, you will be able to build collaborative working relationships across a wide range of teams and staff at different levels within the organisation as well as with external customers. You will review processes on an ongoing basis and look to troubleshoot issues and streamline workflows, developing and delivering training within and outside of the team, as required.

You will possess strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to communicate financial information with non-finance colleagues in a clear and concise way.

You will possess sound knowledge of financial regulations and their application coupled with experience of financial operations in an organisation of a similar size (or larger) to the College. Working knowledge of Technology One would be advantageous but is not essential as training will be provided.

The successful candidate will be based with the rest of the Finance team at the professional services city centre offices, reporting in to the Head of Finance.

The post will be shortlisted against the essential and desirable criteria at application stage from the person specification. Please ensure that you have a look at this specification attached to the role profile and complete your application directly from this, providing clear evidence of how you meet each of the criteria detailed, as these specifications are an integral part of the selection process.
