PRACTICE SUPPORT MANAGER

NOTTINGHAM / HYBRID

Douglas Scott are on the look out for an excellent and proactive and self-motivated Practice Support Manager to join our leading TOP 100 client at their Nottingham Office. The role will be based at their Nottingham office with flexible hybrid working option.

This role is perfect for a Practice Support Manager (who has previous Law Firm experience) to help support the firms Real Estate Division.

The Role:

  • Oversee individual performance, conducting progress meetings, appraisals, probation reviews, and setting objectives
  • Facilitate smooth onboarding for new starters, transfers, and maternity returns, ensuring awareness of relevant policies and procedures
  • Coach and develop the team, identifying training needs for growth and performance
  • Provide pastoral care and manage team wellbeing
  • Resolve workflow, resource, and HR-related issues, focusing on service excellence
  • Collaborate with Practice Support Managers to ensure balanced resource allocation and consistent service delivery
  • Prioritize work to balance fee-earning tasks with Client & Marketing needs
  • Manage recruitment, headcount, and budget considerations, ensuring business cases for changes
  • Anticipate and address changes in demand or regulations with timely interventions
  • Lead team meetings, produce management reports, and review KPIs/SLAs for quality and performance
  • Improve processes and service offerings in line with technological and client/business needs
  • Drive exceptional client service through process improvements and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, collaborating with central teams as needed
  • Champion firm initiatives, support projects, and adopt effective methodologies to achieve objectives
  • Maintain high service standards, adapting to evolving client and business requirements

The Candidate:

  • Previous Law Firm Management / Supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to quickly establish credible relationships at all levels
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders and leading change
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities, be alert to potential problems and challenge working practices
  • Proactive, collaborative and forward-thinking
  • Confidential and discreet but able to redirect information when appropriate to ensure areas of concern are resolved efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to identify and deliver improvements to processes and systems to ensure efficiency and the drive to see projects through from initiation to completion
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop people
  • Attention to detail and the highest quality standards
  • Resilient with the ability to manage difficult situations effectively and stay calm under pressure
