About the Role

NCHA is looking for a Groundworker - Multi Trade to join our Responsive Repairs Team. You will be responsible for carrying out groundwork repairs and maintenance across our housing stock, ensuring a high-quality, efficient, and customer-focused repair service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform external maintenance and repairs, including landscaping, pathways, driveways, car parks, bricklaying, repointing, and rendering
  • Maintain and repair boundaries, including walls and all types of fencing
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair drainage systems, including surveys, excavation, and replacements
  • Carry out basic multi-trade repairs, including plumbing, joinery, and patch plastering as required
  • Handle, store, and dispose of materials and substances safely
  • Maintain and update computerised records and provide detailed reports
  • Work in accordance with Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain and store all equipment in good working order
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure the completion of repairs within agreed timescales
  • Participate in the emergency out-of-hours rota to provide 24/7 service coverage
About YouEssential Qualifications & Knowledge
  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant construction trade OR extensive experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in groundworks, including excavation, laying/repairing paths, kerbs, and driveways
  • Experience in drainage work, including full surveys, unblocking, and replacements
  • Expertise in brickwork, including repointing, bricklaying, and rendering
  • Experience erecting and repairing various types of fencing
  • Basic skills in plumbing, joinery, and patch plastering
  • Experience working in social housing (desirable)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Competent in using computerised systems for work records
