Role Overview:
As the Head of Metering, you will take ownership of retail business operations, effectively leading and managing the operational team responsible for day-to-day activities. Your primary focus will be on maximizing efficiency and cash flow by managing the conversion of meters to cash and ensuring successful billing in line with agreed KPIs. This role will require a hands-on approach to drive first-time right outcomes and support debt prevention initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Metering team, including both BAU and Smart Metering operations, while collaborating closely with key stakeholders.
  • Enhance first-time right billing performance by effectively managing the meters to cash cycle and supporting debt prevention efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and assist the debt team in legal disputes by providing accurate metering information.
  • Oversee the performance of smart metering infrastructure, maintaining service levels and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Proactively identify and address business risk factors, ensuring operations remain adaptable to the evolving energy industry.
  • Support the field team with metering and debt-related inquiries, managing relationships with DNO, MEM, and third parties.
  • Develop and monitor operational KPIs, reporting on technical performance and adherence to standards.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the desired business outcomes.
  • Select and manage external third-party providers to enhance operational systems and processes.
  • Champion a customer-centric approach while maintaining the group's interests.

  • Proven experience in leading and managing operational teams to achieve objectives and support sales strategies.
  • A track record of developing and implementing efficient operational strategies in a B2B or B2C environment.
