We are seeking candidates interested in working in the recycling and environmental sustainability industry. This position is responsible for the quality of incoming material to site and ensure it is compliant with required specifications, before sorting and preparing for sale. You will ensure operations are conducted safely at all times and within the guidelines of Unimetalspolicies and procedures. Working in Nottingham, you will work under the supervision of a knowledgeable and supportive Site Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the quality of material received at site & ensure material meets required specifications
  • Maintain quality standards and segregation
  • Ensure any material that is not in line with specifications is reported to Manage & thatmaterial is weighed correctly
  • Ensure accurate documentation and paperwork is completed for all transactions
  • Authorise supplier payments
  • Prepare and present material for sale
  • Sort, clean and inspect material
  • Responsible for the security of material on site
  • Complete monthly stock take when required
  • To raise and act upon any non-conformances arising within the scope of responsibilities of the position
  • To ensure colleagues and visitors to the site comply with SHECS standards
  • First point of contact for customers visiting site
  • To contribute towards the efficient running of the operation
  • To ensure their working area is kept in a clean and state at all times
  • Demonstrate personal responsibility for all Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Sustainability (SHECS) policies, procedures, and initiatives
  • Support measures designed to effectively manage costs and adherence to budgetary requirements

Qualifications

  • In depth knowledge of metal grades
  • Previous experience working in the metals industry
  • IT literate to include Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience working within the waste or metals recycling sector is desirable
  • Forklift Truck Licence desirable, but not essential. Banksman experience would be an advantage.

This will be working night shifts 5pm - 2am and will recieve a night rate ontop of the basic rate.
