Our client a well-respected and reputable trade association is currently looking for Public Affairs and Events Officer to join a hard-working, fun and friendly team.

The Role of Public Affairs and Events Officer

To support with the delivery of the public affairs and events activities, ensuring the Association is recognised as the leading industry trade body, acting as a pragmatic and authoritative voice on all matters related to our trade.

To support with the design and delivery of the associations parliamentary activities, and to drive awareness of the company’s thought-leadership through management and delivery of events.

Supporting with parliamentary and political engagement, including briefing colleagues ahead of meetings or inquiry sessions. 

Supporting with the delivery of the associations own thought-leadership events and events sponsored by the associations corporate partners. This will involve taking on a leading role in the design of events from start-to-finish to ensure they deliver on clear objectives, bring together the right stakeholders, and deliver tangible policy outcomes for the association.

Attending sector events to network and pick up important intelligence.

Working closely with the associations members to understand their challenges and own political priorities and using these to inform the associations external activities.

Developing briefing papers on matters related to the associations community.

Maintaining the associations stakeholder map and ensuring the association meets the right stakeholders at the right time.

Provide parliamentary and political intelligence to the entire team, including the associations Chief Executive, to help inform the associations messaging and positioning

Person Specification

2+ years’ experience working in a political environment and with experience of delivering high-quality events.

Experience of working with trade association/ membership bodies desirable but not essential.

Experience of working within a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential.

Knowledge of parliamentary and public affairs.

Ability to write clearly.

Ability to manage multiple streams of work and associated deadlines.

Proficient in IT usage and applications
