Repro Operator

Location: Nottingham

Salary: DOE

Company: One of UK's largest packaging manufacturer.

Role: Working on carton packaging files for the food industry, litho print process.

Our client is looking for an ArtPro Plus / Reprographics Operator to join their team in Nottingham.

You will be responsible for end-to-end handling of client artwork, pre-flighting, rectification, proofing, imposing and plating with a willingness to operate as a broad skilled pre-press operative and assist the Repro Manager wherever necessary. Pre-flight and produce repro files / proof client supplied artwork files to tight deadlines ensuring they meet appropriate production specifications

  • Identify and carry out artwork alterations / corrections to assist clients where necessary to conform with print-ready production specifications
  • Step and repeat layouts predominantly for multi version, multi working sheet complex printed packaging production
  • Colour management, colour profiling and curve management
  • Process artwork file layers for decorative finishing processes such as embossing, spot UV varnish & foiling
  • Seek out methods for minimising and mitigating risk of error in all pre-press processes
  • Be part of the process of quality checking from pre release of files to them being supplied to the Plate Room
  • Keep up to date with latest reprographic, graphic design & structural packaging design software & hardware that the company would benefit from
  • Perform ongoing process review to present new ideas & ways of working in conjunction with the Repro Manager.

Requirements:

  • Experience creating technical repro files
  • Previous experience working within packaging - ideally cartons but not essential
  • Adobe Creative Suite skills specifically Illustrator
  • ESKO experience - ArtPro preferred
  • Full and comprehensive understanding of Combination print Reprograchics & Print Processes (Gravure/Offset/Flexo/Screen/Eboss/Foilers plus Digital & Hybrid print knowledge).
  • Experience of the print industry and processes i.e. flexo and digital
  • Artwork amends / creation experience
