School Governor at Endeavour Academy

Endeavour Academy is a Nottingham based Special school which has two main sites within two miles of each other. Our Lower School site on Churchmoor Lane caters predominantly for young people from primary through to Year 8. Some Year 9 students may have an extra year on this site before transferring to our Upper School site on Sherbrook Road. The Upper School caters for students from Year 9 to Post 16 (Y13). Through honesty we build trust, through empathy we gain understanding and, through resilience, we endeavour to succeed. The school is part of Nexus Academy Trust. Endeavour Academy is seeking a number of new Governors.

Governors are volunteers who have an interest in improving outcomes for children and young people.

As a governor you would work alongside other people in the Academy Council for the school. These are made up of Staff Governors, Parent Governors, Community Governors, Headteacher and officers from the Nexus Central Trust Team. As a Parent Governor you would need to have a child who is a pupil on roll at the school you are interested in.

As a team you would receive information and reports related to the school’s

  • Self-Evaluation
  • School Improvement Plan
  • Pupil and Community Voice

Meetings are scheduled in the daytime during the school day or evenings, depending on the individual school and the dates are set a year in advance. Meetings generally last for 2 hours and there is one meeting per term.
