Empowering Learning are looking for a SEND Teacher to work in a SEND Provision in Nottingham. The ideal candidate should have experience of working with SEND children, though this is not essential. The ability to teach a range of age groups and individual needs would be highly advantageous.
The ideal candidate will:
- QTS or Equivalent
- High level of understanding different SEND and learning styles
- Have the ability to teach across the age groups.
- Knowledge of primary and secondary age curriculum expectations
- Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
- Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children from all needs and backgrounds
- Have excellent behaviour management skills and PMLD Knowledge
- Understand the expectations against the Teachers Standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Teaching a range of subjects within SEND school.
- Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning.
- Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting
- Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy
- Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
- Possible supervising on lunch and break times
- Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
- Building relationships with staff and pupils
- Collecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessments
- Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils progress
- To have pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils
- Potentially lead in a subject area
- Ensure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carers
