Technical Director Job in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire

Technical Director job available with a private consultancy, working from their office in Nottingham. The role is suited to a Head of Clerk of Works or Technical Director with experience managing a national team. Offering a salary of up to 80,000 plus benefits!

Their multi disciplined teams span across The North, Midlands and South East offering services across quantity surveying, employers agent/project management, clerk of works and insurance/advisory services. They are now looking for someone to join as a Technical Director to lead their Clerk of Works team (17) that cover the UK. The role is open to being based from either their Nottingham or Kibworth office.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and ensure the quality of Clerk of Works service delivery across the business, contributing to its strategic direction
  • Oversee client satisfaction, project appointments, invoicing, and service profitability
  • Manage team resources and workloads to meet project requirements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring satisfaction, fostering new opportunities, and overseeing high-standard service delivery
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities, representing the business at networking and marketing events
  • Drive the development and implementation of the Quality Management System, ensuring adherence to KPIs and continuous improvement
  • Train, coach, and develop the Clerk of Works team, including delivering in-house CPD events
  • Collaborate with HR on recruitment, performance appraisals, and other HR processes.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar role at senior management/director level, ideally within a private consultancy
  • Experienced with Quality Management systems
  • Proven background with running large-scale and complex projects
  • Ideally ICWCI qualified
  • Fully UK Driving Licence and access to a car.
