Job Purpose
Install lightning protection and earthing systems on various structures across private, public, industrial, and commercial sectors, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Installation:Install lightning protection and earthing systems on tall structures like high-rise offices and flats, following pre-designed schemes and risk assessments.
- Upgrades:Undertake upgrades to existing lightning protection systems as per provided instructions.
- Safety:Utilize scaffolding, work platforms, and safety devices to work safely at heights.
- Documentation:Complete all company paperwork accurately, including risk assessments, job sheets, and timesheets.
- Client Communication:Provide on-site communications and advice to clients or project managers, representing the company professionally.
Job Context / Key Challenges:
- Lightning Protection is a highly regulated niche service, requiring annual testing (BS EN 62305:2006).
- Work is predominantly outdoors and at height, requiring access to rooftops and challenging locations.
- Projects range from high-rise residential to industrial structures, necessitating travel and driving.
Role Dimensions:
- Individual contributor reporting to an Operations or Contracts Leader.
- Customer-facing role, representing the company and brand nationwide.
- National role with occasional travel away from home as per customer needs.
