Our client is a well established, highly reputable Structural Steel company based near the Derbys/Notts border. They are looking to appoint a Health & Safety Manager to ensure that all operational activities are safely carried out in accordance with relevant and current legislation. Main duties will include:

  • Advising and presenting information relating to H&S legislation to management
  • Representing the company with regards to any interaction with relulatory bodies
  • Preparation for H&S audits
  • Identification of hazards and risks in the workplace
  • Ensuring the system is well managed
  • In the event of an incident, manage investigations and findings as well as continually striving to improve safety
  • Work closely with external advisors
  • Give advice on any H&S related training
  • Production of reports
  • Liaison with Quality & Environmental Manager
  • Carry out H&S inductions
  • Departmental budget management

In order to carry out this role, it is expected that the successful candidate will have in-depth H&S understanding and ideally have a background in steel, construction, manufacturing or engineering. You should also be adept at carrying out inspections and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously.
