Role Purpose:

This role is for a full-time teacher to work within the Design & Technology faculty. The school are looking for someone who is able to teach within the specialisms of DT and Art & Design.

The ideal candidate will be able to operate within a dynamic and forward-thinking team who are focused on developing exciting and engaging learning experiences for students across the 11-18 age range.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans that cater to students of varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore their creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Teach students how to effectively use a range of design software and equipment.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students, helping them to refine their design work and achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to organize extracurricular activities, such as design competitions and workshops, to enhance students' passion for design and technology.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in design and technology education, incorporating them into your teaching strategies.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) in the UK, with a specialism in Design & Technology or a related field.
  • A passion for design and technology, with a strong understanding of design principles and practical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Proficiency in using design software and equipment, such as CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D printers.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying up to date with advancements in the field.
  • Experience in teaching Design & Technology at secondary school level is desirable.
