Progress Teachers are working closely with an Ofsted rated 'Good' Secondary School in Leicester to appoint an inspirational and dedicated Teacher of Computer Science to start after the Easter Holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver high-quality Computer Science lessons that engage and provide appropriate challenge for students, fostering a love for the subject.
  • Curriculum Development: Support the wider department in contributing to the development and improvement of the Computer Science curriculum, ensuring alignment with national standards and the School's educational goals.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Implement regular AFL to monitor pupil progress from lesson-to-lesson, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their learning journey. Also conduct regular summative assessment in line with departmental/school policy, maintaining accurate records of outcomes for reporting and analysis.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, managing classroom behaviour effectively through consistent use of the School's behaviour policy.
  • Wider School Responsibilities: Engage and actively participate in wider professional responsibilities such as lunchtime duty, parents evenings, and transition open evenings as required by the School.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Teaching Qualifications: A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) with a focus on Computer Science Education is highly advantageous.
  • Subject Knowledge: A degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a strong understanding of subject-specific knowledge.
  • Teaching Experience: Proven experience as a Secondary Computer Science Teacher with a successful track record of student achievement is positive, but strong ECTs will also be considered.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Commitment to Inclusion: A commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment that caters to the needs of all students.
  • A DBS on the Update Service or Willingness to obtain.
  • 2x Satisfactory References.
