LTF Recruitment specialises in long term to permanent placements in education settings. Our partner secondary school are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant, able to support students with overcoming barriers to learning. The supportive school is located in the Nottingham, NG3 area and the successful candidate will be supporting students to learn and develop.

The role/ responsibilities:

  • Actively support students who are underperforming or have an identified special educational need, inside and outside of the classroom
  • Provide 1-1 and small group support, understanding any needs that the students have and ensuring that they are able to access learning material
  • Create and build strong relationships with the young people you work with, providing effective support and guidance
  • Ensure that students are progressing socially, emotionally and academically
  • Keep track of student progress, including keeping effective records of mentoring activities

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification is desirable
  • Previous experience of working with children/young people with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A valid DBS and two references are a requirement for this role
