We are working on behalf of a specialist independent school in the NG11 area, currently seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a school that caters to young people aged 5 to 19 with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone looking to have a meaningful impact in a inclusive school environment.

Role Overview:

  • Provide individual and small group support tailored to each student's learning and emotional needs (ASD).
  • Assist with the delivery of planned educational activities, adapting where necessary.
  • Track and report on pupil progress and engagement.
  • Create a supportive environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and resilience.
  • Contribute to positive behaviour support within the classroom.
  • Encourage independence and the development of key life skills.

What we are Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or SEN is essential.
  • A calm, patient, and understanding approach to supporting challenging behaviour.
  • Relevant qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to build trust and form positive relationships with students.
