The HR Officer responsibilities include:

  • Respond to day-to-day queries from academies and managers across the Trust on HR policy, procedure and best practice, escalating contentious issues to the HRBP for any cases which may be considered high risk
  • Managing own casework on all employee relations issues from disciplinary, grievances, maternity, consultations and any other HR cases as required by partner schools
  • Ensure all advice is fully compliant with current employment law, including the Equality Act, Data Protection and Safer Recruitment legislation
  • Managing sickness absence casework across partner schools
  • Undertake compliance checks on academy single central records and file audits in line with inspection schedules providing advice and guidance as require
  • Support to the wider HR team on projects including training and induction programmes
  • Maintain the Trust SCR and support with on-boarding process for central team staff including DBS applications
  • Produce management reports as required and directed by the wider HR team

The successful HR Officer will be educated to GCSE, or equivalent, in English and Maths, with a relevant Business/HR Administration qualification (e.g. CIPD level 5). Experience of a similar role within an educational setting would be desirable, with working knowledge of HR systems (e.g. HRIS, payroll). You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience of managing data systems for reporting to management and other stakeholders.

We are seeking a highly organised, flexible and approachable individual with excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multi task and prioritise. Due to the nature of the role, a driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential.

In return the Trust offers a competitive salary, pension scheme, flu vaccinations, free eye test, occupational health and physiotherapy services and travel expenses.
